Santa
Fe National Forest - Pecos Ranger District Work Projects
Several summer work projects by the Pecos Chapter
included repairs to the
Jack’s Creek to Iron Gate trail. Members worked to level out and
reinforce an
area that combined a steep drop off, slip rock and a narrow trail. A
large section
of the bank side was cut back and dirt was packed over the slip rock. In
addition,
the drop off side was reinforced and built up with logs. Water bars were
added to
the upper end of this section to divert rain water off the trail.
