Santa Fe National Forest - Pecos Ranger District Work Projects - Beatty's Cabin

Over night trips to the Beatty’s flat area, in July, included working on the cabin and nearby trails.  Repairs to the inside of the cabin involved electrical, plumbing and window replacements. The tack & tool shed got a new roof, which required two separate trips. The Pecos Ranger District assisted with getting new roof shingles packed in.

•In August, members returned to the Beatty’s area and worked on repairs and re-routs to the bogs located in trail #25.  Culverts were packed from the cabin to the work area and put in place to reroute the water flow. This has always been a problem area for
hikers and riders. These bogs will require regular maintenance and Pecos members
will continue to monitor this section of trail #25.
