On Saturday, April 30th seven members of the Pecos Chapter cleared the
Spruce Spring Trail in the Monzano Mountains. They also packed up a new
stock tank to replace the existing tank that was old and rusty. In less than an
hour the new tank was in place along with a sturdy rock base and the drain
hose reburied for a more natural look. They packed out the old tank along
with some old hose, pieces of pipe and clamps.
This spring is a reliable water source for area wildlife. The placement of the
stock tank allows for both animals and humans to access a “pool” of fresh water
throughout the year.
